Although the PRE30 is designed to work with virtually any other equipment, it is the perfect partner for other models in the Primare range, such as the CD31 and A30.2 Amplifier or the new Super Amp A32. Its input stage is made with J-FET input devices coupled in a fold back cascade for maximum transient speed. All stages are current loaded and the current source is thermally compensated, which means that no DC servos are needed. The output stage is made with MOS-FET output devices. A custom-made 100VA toroidal transformer and double active regulators are used in the PRE30's substantial power supply, which combines with local regulators to ensure that all stages in the design receive the current needed for best possible performance. To emphasise Primare's uncompromising approach throughout the PRE30 design, an exacting "shunt to ground" type volume control is employed for best possible sound quality. This solution is mostly found in much more expensive products. Primare has designed the PRE30 to be as versatile and easy to use as it is advanced. Offering full remote control of all functions, including switching for its seven inputs, it also provides such useful features as individually adjustable input sensitivity for all inputs, a tape output, and a surround processor throughput, allowing the listener to use the PRE30 in a combined Home Theatre / Music reproduction system. In addition, a remote link allows the listener to control a Primare power amplifier.
